As a member of Netchoice, we at Dreamwidth have been contributing to a number of Netchoice's lawsuits seeking to stop the implementation of the terrible and unconstitutional social media bills being passed in many US states that pretend to be "data privacy" or "child protection" laws but are actually backdoor censorship and deanonymization bills that threaten the privacy, safety, and anonymity of everyone who exists online. We are committed to fighting as many laws as possible that would force us to give us your government ID to prove how old you are before you use the site or would force us to change our content policies to prevent people from posting things that state lawmakers think are "harmful to children" -- laws that always, always target speech by marginalized people first and foremost.
